I use AutoCAD 2011 for few weeks now.

After a  few days ago it became unstable, the program start to "hang" at startup.

The status bar, on the bottom of the AutoCAD window, "hang" on 39%.

The OS (Windows 7) state that there is no responding from the program.

I read all the forums I found on this issue, among them was an article published by Autodesk support, ID: TS1076266 from 2007-Oct-29, its about "Program appears to freeze or hang during startup".

This article is for AutoCAD 2008 but it looks the same on 2011.

I have tried every solution I saw on the forums and on this article, like "un-checking for publisher's certificate revocation", re-install, repair etc…

How can I solve this problem? There is no way to open the AutoCAD at all.

I will be grateful for any help regarding this matter.

My PC spec. is:

Windows 7 x64 ultimate

AutoCad 2011 x64

GPU – fx 1800

CPU – i7-960

RAM – 6Gb

Thank you in advanced

Keren

Are you just opening the program from your Desktop shortcut or are you double clicking on a drawing file from your Explorer window? It could be a problem the drawing that you're trying to open.

If you haven't already seen it, there's another possible solution here: http://blog.jtbworld.com/2010/05/what-is-solution-if-autocad-2011-hangs.html

Thank you for your response

Actually either way I try to open a file, this problem accrues.

I don't think there is a problem with the AutoCAD files themselves because I could open them all before. Suddenly the AutoCAD could not open them.

The wired thing is that if I open the AutoCAD and create a new file I can save and open it again!

I also read the solution, you gave me the link for, I saw it on Autodesk forums.

I kill this task and AutoCAD keep on hanging, I also try so change the register for this task as I saw it on other forum, also didn’t help.

Let me give you some more info, at first it looks like AutoCAD "hang" on startup, then I saw that it is trying to open the template file Template\acadiso.dwt (default), when I change his location AutoCAD start (because he skip opening it, it was not there anymore).

Then I figure it out that this is files issue (all files including AutoCAD original template) and the rest you know…

Hi,

I´m having the same problem as you at the moment. Try to install AutoCAD 2010 and 2011 on mine new laptop for work, and they have the same problem at the same moment and file. It´s hangs om trying to open the template file, acadiso.dwt. (also if i change the default dwt file with the work template file)
If I get rid of the template file, Autocad continues, but when i wanted to  open a dwt file or dwg, it hangs again.

Also I have installed other Autodesk products, like 3d studio and maya and they do work fine. Even installed Inventor 2010 and it worked too.

Can you help me, how to solve this problem?
Have done the same steps above as you, and the problem continues.

My spec:
- Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
- i7-920 intel core
- Ati Firepro m7740
- Ram 4Gb

Thanks in advanced
Fran.

have the same problem here.
No error messages or anything, so don't know what causes.

Maybe there is some way to make some log file to find out what causes this problem?
