Non-constant attributes of dynamic block yield to display control through "visibility states" (and other dynamic actions) only of they are locked.

In the dynamic block editor, open the Properties palette (Ctrl+1) and set the property "Lock position" (the last row) for the given attribute to Yes. Then Attsync the changed block.
