In this case, the type, size and color of the cursor is defined through your operating system. You will need to customize the pointer scheme.

The setting can be found in Windows Control Panels under Mouse > Pointers > Customize. Other types of text editing cursors can be loaded with the Browse button. Predefined text pointers are named as beam*.cur (resp. .ani) files.
