Q - question

Import and export IGES files in AutoCAD (DWG).

A - answer Since AutoCAD version 2011 with the installed "Subscription Advantage Pack" (SAP) and in versions 2012+ you can use the commands IGESIMPORT and IGESEXPORT.

With these commands you can import (read) and export (write) files in the neutral exchange format IGES (.igs, .iges). Both 2D and 3D objects are supported. The conversion is performed in the background (aruba.exe, AcTranslators.exe), a bubble notification in the AutoCAD status line informs about the finished process.
