CAD tip CAD tip # 11623:

Question CAD

Q - question

Measuring suddenly doesn't work in AutoCAD or DWG TrueView.

A - answer Instead of the measured distance, AutoCAD suddenly displays only the crosshair cursor with a question mark badge (symbol), no numbers.

Please check the commandline prompt for the expected type of the entry. The older command DIST immediately prompted for the points to measure. The newer universal measuring command MEASUREGEOM first requests to specify the measurement type (distance, area, radius, volume, angle...) and then prompts for the individual points.

The Dynamic mode (F12) displays prompts and measured data on screen. If it is disabled, the prompts may be somewhat hidden, especially if your command line is disabled or minimized.
