How to export linetypes from an AutoCAD DWG drawing? LinOut
A - answer With the free utility by CAD Studio - LinOut - you can automatically generate (extract) a linetype definition file (.LIN) back from your DWG drawing (incl. the shape+text information from complex linetypes).

Load the VLX utility in your AutoCAD session (with the main DWG drawing) with APPLOAD and start the LinOut command.

LinOut is available for download on www.cadstudio.cz/download (see also SW Development).

Version 1.3 fixes handling of multi-text lines.

For hatch patterns use the PatOut utility
