Q - question

How to prevent block edits with BEDIT?

A - answer If you want to stop users editing dynamic blocks (or if you want to use the old REFEDIT on block-dblclicks), you can switch off the new dynamic block editor through the BLOCKEDITLOCK system variable.

Setting this variable to 1 locks off the BEDIT command and double-click on a dynamic block starts just the reference editor or attribute editor.

You can watch changes of this variable with the Xanadu SysVarLock utility (see Tip 4241).

You can also right-click on a block to choose between the BEDIT and REFEDIT editors
