What are the files of the type assembly.NewVer.iam ?

The *.NewVer.* file (NewVersion) are crash files which may be left on your disk when Inventor crashes while saving data. In normal situation, these are only temporary files deleted automatically after successful saving of Inventor files.

Apply the latest Service packs and make sure you have the neccessary user rights, that you use certified hardware and that your network infrastructure is working flawlessly (or save the your files locally).
