CAD tip # 6617:
Question
A
AutoCAD Map may fail with the error: "INTERNAL ERROR: .\AcMapCoordinateTransform.cpp" (eUnknownError or "Caoono open frame file") when inserting a raster file (e.g. TIFF, ECW, SID). This is caused by a collision of the MAPIINSERT command (or RasterDesign Object Enabler) with addressing of high memory.
If you use Windows in the "3GB" mode (enhanced RAM addressing) or the 64-bit Windows version, in some situations the MAPIINSERT command in Map 2009/2008/2007 can fail (applies also on Topobase and Civil 3D).
You can either use the standard command IMAGE, or switch off the 3GB-mode, or install Raster Design, or insert images using FDO, or upgrade to the version 2010.
