Why are the layers not alphabetically sorted anymore?

Maximum number of sorted items in symbol lists is limited by the MAXSORT variable; increase its value (e.g. to several thousands).

Default value of MAXSORT is 200 for AutoCAD 2002 (and earlier) or 1000 for AutoCAD 2004 and later).
