Revit - divide parts into layers.

A - answer A number of building components consist of layers - e.g. floors, roofs, walls, ceilings. With the new function "Divide parts" in Revit 2012 you can divide such componets into individual parts. You can use grip editing to change their shape, you can annotate them and schedule them.

This function is illustrated in the Video 45a and 45b:
