Prepare a script file (the .SCR extension) where you set the requested system variable. This file is a plain text file with a single line - e.g. to "myscript.scr" insert:

HPNAME myhatch

Save this script to the AutoCAD program or support folder.

Then add the string /b myscript.scr to the AutoCAD runstring (the desktop icon, right-click to Properties > Shortcut > Target) -- this will run your script file automatically when you start AutoCAD - e.g.:

"C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD LT 2011\acadlt.exe" /b myscript.scr
