Q - question

How to make a PDF file from your drawing?

A - answer You can print directly (using the PLOT command) to a pseudo printer (device) "PDF Writer" or "Distiller Assistant" created by the Adobe Acrobat application (the full version, not the free 'Acrobat Reader'). Print parameters (format, colors, etc.) can be set in the same way as if you print on paper.

You can also use GhostScript to convert any postscript output from AutoCAD to a PDF format (or you can use other tools like OttoPDF, PDF995, JawsPDF, PDF-XChange, Win2PDF).

Since AutoCAD version 2007 you can plot directly to the PDF format using AutoCAD PLOT command. PDF output is also available in Inventor 2009 (and higher).

Alternatively you can publish drawings to the DWF format (Whip!). See the advantages and disadvantages of DWF vs. PDF in Tip 2027.
