The free of charge Personal (hobby, DIY) license of the CAD/CAM software Autodesk Fusion has several functional limitations (starting in April 2021), including more limited support of CAD formats (import/export).

Still, even the "personal" Fusion supports a number of formats important for exchanging design and manufacturing data.

Autodesk Fusion personal licenses support the following formats:

Import:

  • Fusion - F3D/F3Z
  • Inventor - IPT/IAM
  • DXF (2D)
  • FBX
  • IGES
  • JT
  • OBJ
  • SketchUp - SKP
  • SMT
  • STEP - STP
  • STL
  • USD - USDz

Export:

  • Fusion - F3D/F3Z
  • Inventor - IPT/IAM
  • DXF (sketch, Save As DXF)
  • FBX
  • OBJ
  • SketchUp - SKP
  • SMT
  • STL
  • STEP - STP
  • USD - USDz

Other types of Fusion licenses (commercial, educational, startup...) also support other CAD formats, e.g. Alias (.wire), AutoCAD (.dwg), EAGLE (.sch, .brd, .lbr), CATIA (.CATProduct, .CADPart), NX (.prt), ParaSolid (.x_b, .x_t), ProEngineer/Creo (.asm, .prt), Granite (.g), Neutral (.neu), Rhino (.3dm), SolidWorks (.prt, .asm, .sldprt, .sldasm), SolidEdge (.par, .asm, .psm), 123D (.123dx). See Fusion formats.
