Why? You ask....
Because I find it easier to use the mouse than having to use the ESC button.

I think you are right with the esc key. But I found it very helpful to change the F1 key to have the cancel function (instead of help) because I press sometimes the F1 instead Esc :)

I have no idea, but may I ask, why do you trying that? IMHO the key ESC is better than some toolbar, which you have to click on, move mouse is slower than press a key...

Hi,
Does anyone know how to create a toolbar command to cancel selected items in an AutoCAD drawing when there is no command active. I have created one using ^C^C but that only cancels the selections if a command is in progress. The keyboard command I am trying to emulate is ESC.
