Hi CADers' of the globe.

I would really appreciate 4 or 5 bullet points on the following. I just can't seem to get it working.

Problem:

I can import vectors from Illustraitor or draw them in CAD no probs (and I mostly use the spline tool as I'm creating aircraft wing cross-sections. So the vector is kind of the shape of a droplet of water if you rotate it 90 degrees either way. CAD (07) recognises the vector as I can reshape or scale as I need to. And the vector is closed in the sense that it encapulates an area.

What I can't do:

1) Use the "Planar Surface tool" to create a 2D surface from this, or any other vector. I drew a simple circle and that didn't work either

2) Or create a 3d Surface from the vector using the extrude tool for example

I've been through help and workshop help a million times. What I can do is draw a 3d cone and emboss dunce on it.

Really would appreciate help

thank you
