XCLIP it?
Or you can copy it as you did and than use 
EXTRIM (Express tools command).

	Newbie question. I have large map, I need to copy part of this map and paste in another file to create a smaller map. I know how to copy and paste but It's not what I need. I need a way to select a window and to copy just what is inside this window. If I have a segment of line that is part inside and part outside of this line I need to copy just the part that is inside. Is there a command to do it? thanks.
