I have the same problem....i lost the password....
why i protected this file is just to keep the stuff inside it from being copied by my college mates....as this was an assignment .... |

No, there is no solution. You will just have to create the drawing again, but this time, save a copy without a password. And also, write down your password and save it someplace where you will be able to find it.
Just out of curiosity, why did you password protect your drawing anyway?

If you are hoping to find some kind a password-reconstruction tool, there is none, unfortunately. If you are not able to guess your password, you are out of luck and you have to redo your DWG file from scratch.

Sorry. I think you're in trouble.
Look 'n see if a *.bak file was generated before the password.
If so, save your passworded *.dwg file someplace and then rename the *.bak file.
Did you by any chance create a *.pdf file for anyone?
A *.pdf can be converted to a *.dwg, not a great job but, might help you start over.

From the Autocad Help files:
"Warning. If you lose a password, your drawing file is lost. Before you add a password to a drawing, you should create a backup that is not protected with a password." |
