I wouldn't go as far as to say "AutoCAD sucks", but in comparison to Inventor, I would say that AutoCAD couldn't hold it's own when working with something as complex as a chopper.
To answer your question though, yes, AutoCAD can do what you want it to, but as tulip says, it won't be an easy task. Put it this way, using AutoCAD (in this respect) is like using a toothbrush to clean a warehouse floor. Good Luck!! |

Inventor or Solidworks man. Autocad sucks. I mean it will function, but has none of the simple tools to make somthing like that an easy task. like you cant just make a handle bar and change the color to chrome. or the paint to be green, high luster with a yellow fleck clear coat. You can do it, but thats called 'rendering' in autocad and it aint easy and eats a sh1t ton of memory. go inventor or solidworks, or hack and curse your way through acad lol

Hi All,
Just as my subject says, I have been playing with AutoCAD 2011 using the 3D component. I like motorcycle choppers and wanted to see if i could model one. As i am a beginner with the 3D component, is the software capable of modelling such things as curved seamless pipes, handle bars etc. If not what would be the best software for this type of design / modelling Appreciate all help
