The two of you are talking apples and oranges.
Jeme is talking about file encryption while philippe is talking about the acad.pgp file which is for command aliases. One of you needs to get on the right page with the other.
I'm thinking of reporting this thread as it has nothing to do with CAD.

Yes I think that you can't take any letter in the PGP file.
I would use another letter or 2 letters available for this and memorize it.
When you will change your AutoCAD to a newer release all will have to be remorize as commands names sometimes change.
Personnaly I have given up changing everything and work with the existing PGP + my new settings, then I can also work easily on an other computer that's not mine.

PGP is a file extension associated with PGP Security Key PGP is a file extension associated with . Incorrect associations are the cause of many file extension errors. Scan your system to prevent, identify and repair PGP file extension association errors.

there is a pgp editor in auto CAD 2011. That is the only thing that works... not changing the PGP file in the support directory like i use to do. Thank you to all that responded. This forum has been so very helpful

Perhaps she wasn't using an ASCII text editor OR she forgot to save her edited pgp file.

Might I suggest the "old" way of editing this file? Open acad.pgp using any ASCII text editor. Windows itself comes standard with one. It is called Notepad.

For what you're doing, I don't think the CUI editor will work. Do you have EXPRESS TOOLS (ET) installed. If not, you should definitely install them ASAP. ET has a visual command alias editor that works like a charm. In your Menu Browser, go to: Express > Tools > Command Alias Editor...
