This is a definite yes. Using the driver supplied by dell works perfectly. Perhaps in the future a driver designed for the cad world will be available but for now you will not regret the decision. I am on the civil side and do a lot of gis work. With the esri product. Images on both and I am very impressed with the performance. I am also running 6 i7 970 processors.

I am running Dual 1GB ATI Radeon HD 6870 on a alienware alx and it smokes using civil 3d. Rotating my projects in 3d (I Sq. Mile) with a lot of piping and utilities is unreal. i haven't found a upgraded driver for them yet for autocad so just running the one from dell and it works nice.
