Well I am at a loss to tell you why that is.  This site has some quirks I guess.

I have 'insert hyperlink' and 'special characters' either side of insert image. No button gives me file upload option.

The File Upload button should be next to the Insert Image button.

When I go to edit the post, I don't have an 'file upload' button, just insert image. Didn't realise my test had uploaded. Where can I find the file upload button?

There does not appear to be a drawing attached.  It does not say:

This site can be soooooooo sloooooooooow at times it becomes frustrating.  Don't have this problem at other CAD-related websites.

Anyway, my approach is to create a short message and post it.  I immediately click on the EDIT button and then I proceed to add the link to a drawing as I did in my previous post.

Click on the File Upload icon.  Then click on the Browse button.  Locate your dwg file (max. 500KB file size).  Click on Open followed by clicking on Upload.  Then click OK.  At the message "to be patient" click that OK button then follow up by closing the window.  Hopefully the file will be inserted as a link in your post when you finally click on Updated Post.

They don't make it obvious when it comes to posting an image or a drawing.  One would expect a "sticky" explaining the process.  Last I read it was buried in another thread where someone asked the same question.

One individual recently posted a drawing as a block in the CAD Block section of the forum.  Not sure I would have done the same but it worked.
