Isn't it just the selection mode? Check the PICKSTYLE variable.

Using AutoCad 2004 lt. Group function has stopped working. Having selected 'group' and then selected objects in the usual way, they no longer turn into a group, and still remain individual objects/lines. At a bit of a loss as to what to do. Any ideas?
