At this point I would suggest contacting Autodesk Support to see what they say. There's really only so much that people online will be able to do for you.
Dave.

I took my computer to get repaired and they had the same problem as I did. They downloaded Autodesk Design Review 13 and I can at least open up drawings, but I cant find some icons. Can you give me instructions on how to download Draftsight. Please Please Help. I have End of the Month Reports due by the 15th (of last month). Thanks, Kip

2006 would have most likely been on a CD.

I have the same question as John did... is your AutoCAD LT 2006 installation on a CD/DVD? Do you have the original packaging? Or is the installation all coming from a file on your system somewhere? Are you absolutely sure the copy that originally worked was legal and registered?
Hate to be going down this path but something doesn't sound quite right. I've saved all my old original installation disks and have never had a problem re-installing an older version as far back as LT 2004. But you do need all the proper information and have to be methodical when rebuilding.
Dave.

So you did an uninstall following the recommendations as set forth by AutoDesk then you tried to reinstall but it failed?
What do you use AutoCAD LT to do anyways?
Did you know that there is a free, yes "free", 2D AutoCAD-clone program called Draftsight? And guess what? It is a lot more up-to-date than your version of AutoCAD LT 2006 is. The best thing is the commands and look are very similar to AutoCAD. A free PDF manual is also available as a download too.
Do you really want to keep messing around trying to reinstall LT? What forced you to install it the first time? Did you have a hard drive crash?

I don't really know. It was bought by our former Public Works Director. I would probably guess he would have purchased it at a computer outlet store.

DAVE Thanks for your reply. I tried my hand at this but I'm sure I went wrong somewhere. Now every time I try to open my CAD program, it stays open for about ten seconds and then closes and I get the "Sorry AutoCAD had to close" box. This is about to tear me up. Any suggestions on what to do. Thanks again Kip
