I always get a DVD (in a box) because I don't trust the download procedure.  When I downloaded AutoCAD Electrical (tyr before you buy) it took two attempts as the first one turned out to be corrupted.  And the download took forever.

This isn't entirely true, at least not in the USA.  Users can request a box with a DVD of the software to use for installations or backup.  I have always done this and continued the practice thru AutoCAD 2014.

From the licensing point of view - either Autodesk or the (first) end user can own the license. And the transfer can be either direct: Autodesk->end user, or indirect: Autodesk->authorized reseller->end user. The licence is sold/transferred, not the box (in fact there is no box with the latest versions of CAD software). If you really own a commercial license (and have good lawyers), you can try to sell it.

Perhaps it is important to mention that I am from Germany.

Unfortunately, Autodesk is the most litigious software company out there.
Morally, I think resale should be legitimate.
Legally, however, no.
