Hi John,

thanks for your suggestion. Is that under tools/datalinks/datalink manager? I tried to do something with it but it is too long considering that we have a massive amount of building to manage  (multiply all buildings for all rooms etc.....). Therefore I'm looking for a software that makes things easy to manage. Please if you know any british provider of a similar software that will be great, thanks again

Starting with AutoCAD 2008 you can link an Excel spreadsheet to an AutoCAD drawing and the link is bidirectional.  You can edit the spreadsheet and have AutoCAD read the information into the drawing or make changes in AutoCAD and have it write those changes back to the spreadsheet.  This feature is called a Dynamic Link.  The best part is it's FREE.

I found this Excellink for Autocad, a software  which allowes to link an excel database to asset management drawings (It allows to bidirectionaly hot-link attribute and block data ) so I don’t have to update name, numbers and areas of rooms all the time in both softwares.

There is just one problem: we can’t buy this programme unless we find a british provider because according to procurement we not allowed to purchase anything on the web.

Anyone knows a british provider? Thanks
