AutoDesk is not going to recommend you buy Excellink. They'll politely suggest you use the Dynamic Link feature of AutoCAD. It's in their best interest to make you dependent on their product.

Guys, I had too much fun with your answers!!!
I'm replying just to let you all know that I contact the provider (email-tel) but they didn't answer so far. Also I work for a Local Authority and procurement is very strict over here and they kick a fuss for anything we want to by online because appareltly they said we don't have credit card! Our IT team said will contact autodesk in order to see if they have any suggestion. Again thanks for the good laugh and please let me know if you have any suggestion in merit

Don't forget Drugs, Alcohol, Tobacco, Cars, Airplanes, and Exploited Children. Those were all hot commodities in recent years.
Actually, as of the 2009 census, Weapons (Tanks, artillery, missiles, rockets, guns and ammunition) ranked #78 out of the 137 US Export categories. It actually came in lower than (amongst other things) Nuts, "Records, Tapes, and Disks", and Bakery Products. But then again you can't kill on an empty stomach without music. ![]() |

They tried the same thing in the U.S. and someone brought up the exact point. Of course they allowed exemptions for things like uranium and certain precious metals only available outside of the U.S. in any great quantities.
I wonder if the Brits now discourage buying U.S. made products as well?

I hadn't really thought about it, but ya know...if they want to limit their economical growth, that is one surefire way to do it. We all want to buy "(your country here) Made!!", but if you can't do it, then you can't do it. Why force the issue? All it does is wastes more resources than it is trying to save. Just sayin. ![]() |

The Brits are really pushing the "Purchased in the UK" scenario aren't they?

Paola,
I understand your company cannot purchase the software online, but maybe there is a loophole you can exploit?!?! Like maybe YOU (or someone you know) can purchase the software, then your company can buy it from you? Or maybe your company can "hire" a company that they normally purchase from to buy it for them. Is this the product you're looking at? http://www.cadstudio.cz/en/excellink.asp If so, maybe you can contact the developers here to see if there is another way your company can buy it directly from them (even though they are in the Czech Republic). Good Luck!!! |
