    Posted: 08.Mar.2011 at 14:07
hi
i copied a block with base point from a drawing (A) to another (B), in a specific layer. in the new drawing (B) there was already that block copied. last time when i paste it in drawing B, there was nothing visible.
the layer is turned on and when i try to edit the existing block in the drawing B, i can't see anything in the preview window.
can anyone tell me why?
thanks!

Are ALL your layers ON and THAWed?

Are you inserting the object in at the same scale? Feet versus millimeters will make a big difference.

After you pasted the object, did you Zoom Extents to see if it was put out in space somewhere?

i tried to copy in model space, where is, also, the existing block and it can be seen. all the layers are on. the scale is ok, there are the same units and i tried to copy other entities and it worked!

if i zoom extent, i can see all the drawing,  there's nothing pasted somewhere else
