Hi there,

I know this is lame but i have an ancient HP draftmaster I plotter and i need drivers for xp.  I use Autocad 2000 but can also use R14 if necessary for printing purposes.  I tried Winline but it was just a trial driver and it costs a bloody $200 which i dont have

please help Smile

HP Draftmaster I?  I doubt you could find a free driver that would work with WinXP.  You might be able to use a generic driver.  I believe HP does have one if I am not mistaken.  Check their website.

Ive got up to this point on their site then it takes me in loops and doesnt give me a download option...is it just me or is there no link to download

holy moly that last link gave my computer the worst virus!

anyhow i managed to find the driver through my plotter manager option in autocad 2000 but i still cant print.

The paper wont load smoothly either...

maybe i dont have the right cable too

Im using a usb to parallel cable...this is getting very complicated Ouch

Yikes!  I'm very sorry about that.  I've downloaded drivers from there in the past with no problem.  Perhaps the site was hacked.

I've used USB to parallel "pigtail" between my computer and a HP Designjet 500 with mixed results.  Sometimes AutoCAD would lose the plotter and I'd have to reload the driver.

Another option I've tried is installing a PCI add-on parallel port card.

i just think this plotter is too ancient for xp...
