I would like to print a half-size view of my layout and I want the line weights reduced to half
of their specified size. A reference book that I read said to make sure the Scale Linewieghts
setting is turned on to appy the selected scale to the line weights. Where is the Scale
Lineweights setting and how do I turn it on?  I am using AutoCad LT 2007.

You'll find that little check box in the Plot dialog below the scale setting.

I see the box to check that says scale lineweights but it is a light gray
color and I am unable to check it to activate it.

It will only become "activated" if you had specified lineweights in the Layer Properties Manager.  I'm betting that you did not and that the word "Default" is listed instead of a number like 0.50mm.

Are you trying to plot from Model space by any chance?  That box will be greyed out then if you are.

Some of my layers are set to a specific linewieght and some of them are on a default setting.

I tried two ways to be able to print the scaled lineweights while printing 8 1/2" x ll."

1) I activated the layer isolate command to turn off all the layers except for the layer of
the selected object. I then atttempted to print  a drawing that only had specific lineweights
with no default lineweights. The scale lineweights box remained a light gray.

2) I also attempted to print from Paper Space and checked the Scale lineweights box on the
plot command. I previewed the plot and the lines were very thick and dark.

Any other suggestions to print scaled lineweights for a  8 12" x 11" print?

Thank you.

Were you using a CTB or STB plot style?
