Hi all. I have just joined this forum and would like information on autocad. I have to admit I am very upset about the setup of autocad as what should be easy is very difficult to do in autocad.

I currently have the trial version which is autocad 2010.  I have made 2d patterns in adobe illustrator which i then saved as a .dxf file but also tried saving as an autocad using the export function. once I open the file i would like to use the press/pull function to make them in to 3d pattern pieces. Problem is , crashes all the time. no matter what i do or try it always crashes. the other problem i have is its way to difficult to trace round the pieces using the draw tools in autocad and i find it much easier using illustrator.

my other problems were if you wanted to place several circles on an object then there's no decent align function. there is an align tool but its just not straight forward. I also tried to find a way to specify spacing between several objects selected at once, again to no avail. Once all my piece's are made in 3d i would like to assemble them to see if they all fit and connect with one another. But its just way tooo difficult!!!  please, please help!!
