Hello,

I want to create a block (possibly dynamic) for about 64 different shackles. I need to have both the front and the side view for these shackles so you may consider it to be 128 different shackles. I have each of the shackles drawn already, but now i want to create one master block that will have a drop down with approximately 4 - 8 choices. What is the best way to get started for this project?

I have been working on finding a solution for close to a month now and have not come up with anything relatively close. Any sort of advice or starting point would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

You can make a dynamic block using visibility states - this will allow you to have a drop down arrow which can list the different blocks you have produced.  You can search on the internet for a 'how to' on this.

Hello mizabawa 011, I and maybe others are also interested in shackles.
In the past I have drawn schackles with the help of pdf files from The Crosby Group and a few time ago I have downloaded their dwg files that I have treated for a better use ( each view of each schackle comes in a separated file and the file name is a code number ).
Maybe we and others could share these files and also I and others could learn more about dynamic and other characteristics blocks.

I could still use a more detailed solution to my issue. I have tried creating a dynamic block and have struggled to organize these view efficiently. If anyone has a more thorough solution I would greatly appreciate the help!
Thanks.

Crosby has a dynamic shackle you can get from them. The one I have goes from 1/3ton to 250ton's. With both views.

Hello corbin, please upload the dynamic block that you are talking about because I have sent an Email to ThecrosbyGroup and they said that don't know about it.
