AutoCAD drawing objects may be highlighted ("selected") when you move cursor over them. If you don't use an accelerated graphics card or you have a slow computer, you may want to suppress this highlighting setting.

Set the SELECTIONPREVIEW variable to 0 or 2. Or use the setting on the Selection tab in the Options dialog, the "Selection preview" section - the "Visual effects..." button.
