Q - question

The RegistryVersion codes for individual versions of Inventor.

A - answer CAD application Autodesk Inventor uses a product code (RegistryVersion) to store its settings in the Registry -- this code distinguishes the individual Inventor versions. Unlike AutoCAD, this key name does not carry the language version (this is stored in the key Language) nor the variety/edition of Inventor (see the key ProductEdition).

This versioning is used in the Registry hives:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\Inventor
and
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\Inventor

The individual Inventor versions use the following RegistryVersion codes:

  • 2012 - RegistryVersion16.0
  • 2011 - RegistryVersion15.0
  • 2010 - RegistryVersion14.0
  • 2009 - RegistryVersion13.0
  • 2008 - RegistryVersion12.0
  • R11 - RegistryVersion11.0
  • R10 - RegistryVersion10.0
  • R9 - RegistryVersion9.0
  • R8 - RegistryVersion8.0 (RegistryVersion8.9 for DX)
  • R7 - RegistryVersion7.0
  • R6 - RegistryVersion6.0
  • R5.3 - RegistryVersion5.2
  • R5 - RegistryVersion5.1
