CAD tip # 8436:
Question
A
CAD application Autodesk Inventor uses a product code (RegistryVersion) to store its settings in the Registry -- this code distinguishes the individual Inventor versions. Unlike AutoCAD, this key name does not carry the language version (this is stored in the key Language) nor the variety/edition of Inventor (see the key ProductEdition).
This versioning is used in the Registry hives:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\Inventor
and
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\Inventor
The individual Inventor versions use the following RegistryVersion codes:
- 2012 - RegistryVersion16.0
- 2011 - RegistryVersion15.0
- 2010 - RegistryVersion14.0
- 2009 - RegistryVersion13.0
- 2008 - RegistryVersion12.0
- R11 - RegistryVersion11.0
- R10 - RegistryVersion10.0
- R9 - RegistryVersion9.0
- R8 - RegistryVersion8.0 (RegistryVersion8.9 for DX)
- R7 - RegistryVersion7.0
- R6 - RegistryVersion6.0
- R5.3 - RegistryVersion5.2
- R5 - RegistryVersion5.1
