What are the .RIF, .MAJ and .EST files?

The files .RIF, .MAJ and .EST are exchange formats for CAD/BIM data used in the Autodesk Fabrication application family, specifically to transfer data to the applications Fabrication CADmep, Fabrication CAMduct and Fabrication ESTmep.

The procedure of data exchange is illustrated in the Autodesk Fabrication video on CAD Studio's YouTube channel:
