Great job that you have done.
I also have drawn 3D shackle blocks on Autocad and I have done two things to improve the future work to incorporate them in assemblies :
set the insertion point at the "quadrant" point of the screw.
Add 2 lines and an arc of 90° in the "Defpoint" layer to be abble to fix the shackle at the end of the elements to be lifted ( once you have done the extrusions you loose the posibiliti to fix your component ).
I will upload an example for you.
