3D curves do not support the assignment of linetypes by default. If you want to represent the orientation of a 3D curve, e.g. the direction of media flow in a pipe in your AutoCAD DWG files, you can use the freeware utility 3DFlow by ARKANCE.
Download 3Dflow from Download, load it into your AutoCAD with APPLOAD and run it by typing the command 3DFLOW (traingle symbols) or 3DFLOWB (any 2D or 3D block).
You can specify the distance or the number of symbols. These are drawn in the "3Dflow" layer.
