How to select all vertical or all horizontal lines in a DWG?

You can use the "filtered selection" command QSELECT to select only precisely vertical or precisely horizontal lines in your AutoCAD drawing.

For the LINE selection filter condition, choose the property "Delta X" (for verticals) or "Delta Y" (for horizontal lines) equal to 0.

You can also include "almost vertical" and "almost horizontal" lines (in both slope directions) - you can do so by setting the selection criteria to Delta less than 1 (or other suitable value).

By combining adding to and removing from a selection set you can also e.g. look up lines which appear as horizontal but are not precisely horizontal (delta Y less than 1 minus/remove delta Y = 0).
