Infinite library of rendering textures - Substance.

Materials, resp. procedural textures of the type Substance introduced in Autodesk 3ds Max 2012 and Autodesk Maya 2012 streamline applying photo-realistic materials to 3D scene objects. But you can use them also as an "infinite" source of standard photo-realistic textures (bitmaps) for real-world objects.

You can choose from about 80 standard procedural supplied materials (.SBSAR files) or you can use an editor to create your own. Each material has a number of parameters that affect its appearance (color, age, size, structure ...). Procedural materials can be then converted to standard "seamless" bitmap images (Bake texture) to create thousands of different textures. Export to all standard raster formats (JPG, TIF, PNG, TGA ...) is supported.
