How to make an Inventor workplane bigger?

A - answer Right-click on the work-plane (in model or tree-view) and uncheck the Auto-Resize option. Now you can drag the grips to resize your workplane.

In an assembly switch selection prioriry (Shift-RtClick) to Feature priority.
