Q - question

Sharp spikes plotted in certain letters.

A - answer Text characters like "M", "V", "W", "A", "N" drawn with SHX fonts are plotted (printed) with long spiked lines.

This is caused by setting an improper line join style in the plot style table - AutoCAD then tries to join lines according to this setting, including the lines in fonts (text).

In the "Plot style table editor" (PLOT) set the Line Join (or also "Line End") style e.g. to "Round" or "Diamond".

Line join style may be also influenced in the printer driver (Windows) for your printer model.
