Q - question

Why are my new dimensions not respecting the current layer?

A - answer If the setting of the DIMLAYER variable is other than a period (".") or "use current", the newly created dimensions will be placed into the layer specified by the value of this variable, not into your current layer in the DWG drawing.

To return to the original behavior, type DIMLAYER and type a period to return the behavior of the dimensions to the default settings.
