Topic: command line lag?Posted: 15.Jul.2008 at 19:49 |

I am having issues with the speed at which the command line registers my key strokes. The problem began when we switch my computer. On exaple is when I attempt to type 13'-1" the command line registers 13, then steps back and puts '-1" between the one and three, so that 1'-1"3 is what is regesterd on the command line. Also whne I attempt to zoom extents and type z spacebar e spacebar, the second space bar does not register. I have to wait a second and hit the spacebar a second time.
I have unloaded and reloaded autocad, I have also changed out the keyboard and the problem still occurs. Does anyone know of a setting that may be messed up in cad?

no, I have not changed the unit settings. I double checked, and they are set to inches, as they should be.

I would hit up AutoDesk with an e-mail, and let them know what it's doing.

So you have a new computer and now it's acting up right? Sometimes the graphics card has been known to create problems such as this (as weird as that may sound). If you have a NVIDIA graphics card, they have drivers specifically created for AutoCAD instead of the standard driver. I would suggest making sure your new computer has the correct drivers and that it meets the specs required to do the type of drawings you're doing.

Is there any disk activity during your command entry? Also check your antivirus settings.
