Hi everyone.

New member but I have been drafting for quite a while now... from at least '05. Nice to meet you allBig%20smile

Cutting to the chase, I am trying to draw ports and combustion chambers for a 4 cycle engine for cfd so I can so some porting for a friend I have made over seas.

The trouble I have is a tad frustrating... and I was wondering of anyone would have any tips? The most trouble I have is with the combustion chamber profile (from the deck to angled poppet valves and angled spark plug. I tried splitting up sections, but didn't help. I also had trouble converting this surface into a solid... so I think I am doing something fundamentally wrong. The other problem I was having (actually I have no idea where to start) is how to blend in the valve guide into the port? I had just used a revolve tool for the guide and a loft tool with changing ID for the port… looks very crude.

Also, another problem that has really stumped me, is drawing the centre line of a port. eg, I have a valve tilted back 15 degrees, so I dont think I can use an elliptical arc as it only seems to work when the start and end is at 90 degrees to each other. I cant seem how to work out how to use a spline either :S

Thanks for reading and looking forward to trying some things out tomorrow morning!
