Hello N° 2, sorry but the method -2- is not OK as the line point "1" / point "2" looks not to be perpendicular to the surface "2".
Did you solve your problem?

Hello, I'm using AutoCAD2008 + Mechnanical and I think that I can answer you question.
You are working in 3D and you are trying to project a point on a surface ( OK ? ). if yes there are two possibilities :
-1- You draw a line comming from your point "1", perpendicular to your surface "1" and going towards your surface "2" and passing trough it.
Then you draw a line "in" your surface "2" ( anywhere ).
In that viewpoint and with an UCS set with "view" AutoCAD will allow you shortenning your lines without them touching themself ( the better is to shorten the two and verify the distance between them and it will be : X:0.000 , Y:0.000 , Z:238.596 for example).
-2- You draw a line comming from your point "1", perpendicular to your surface "1" and going towards your surface "2" and passing trough it.
Then you draw a line comming from any point of your surface "2" and perpendicular to your first line and it will be point "2".
In any case in 3D it's better to work with a 3D view.
Use the "ID" command to have the information on the X,Y,Z coordonates of tyour points, copy/paste the values from the command line to a text or use the automatic block "VertID.dwg" that you can find in the "CAD blocks" right here in the site.

Hi to all, this is the situation of my problem (vertical section)
I have X, Y and Z coordinates to point 1. How can i get the coordinates (X, Y I don't need Z) of point 2? Thanks in advance! |
