AutoCAD for Mac?  Unfortunately you are in the minority as there are far more people like myself running AutoCAD on a PC than on a Mac.  I do know there are differences between the way both programs operate and there may be differences in the availability of some commands.  Not sure how much help I will be able to give you.

In regards to your question.  If you are going to make use of paper space Layouts then you will plot "Layout" under "What to print".

What types of drawings will you be creating?

Where are you located?

John, thank you for the instructions.  My aCAD experience is rusty, to say the least.  Recently I purchased aCAD LT 2013 for Mac and the last version I used was aCAD 2009.  Templates were in place and I never dealt with "starting from scratch;"  the company I worked for considered it CAD tech security.  I literally raised a white flag from my desk (I worked in a bay of 50+ people), a tech would approach and solve my problem.  I never had the opportunity to really learn/deal with aCAD; basically I was a drafter.

With aCAD LT 2013 I will be asking a lot of questions till I get control of it.  I have viewed a number of YouTube videos regarding aCAD LT.  I am grateful to Autodesk help, and I thank you for supporting me.

My question:  In page set up I am unsure of what the choices in "what to print:" will do, i.e. Display, Extents, Window, Layout.  I guess I could experiment; I haven't tried.

Why didn't a manual for aCAD LT 2013 for Mac come with the program I purchased from Autodesk?  Can you recommend a manual/text covering aCAD LT 2013 for Mac?

Thanks,
Shelley

First you have to right-click on your Layout tab and then click on the Page Setup Manager.  This is where you will select your printer/plotter and the paper size.

What do you know about Viewports?

I think you have a lot to learn.  That grey box in your Layout is the default page setup.  The dashed line represents the limits to which AutoCAD will print.  Anything on or outside of the line will NOT print.  The solid rectangle is a viewport.  A viewport is a window that allows us to see the objects we created back in model space.

Layout elements, such as the paper background and shadow, can be changed via the Options dialog box > Display tab > Layout elements found in the lower left-hand corner.

I am using autoCAD Lt 2013.  I need help creating a title block.  I need steps.  I want an 11x17 TB.  I am creating it in layout space.  There's a grey square on my screen and I can't remove it, resize it, or delete it.  It is a phantom box.  HELP I am sad.  Shels4u
