Put it on a locked layer.

You want to make it so that it can NEVER be erased??? Sorry, I don't think that's possible, and, I don't even know why you would want to do that?

well try to insert it as reference. From my experience I know that many people still do not know how to work with references and they are trying to delete such objects with no luck :))

There is software out there that will supposedly lock a drawing, making it uneditable. You might want to check out that option. The program I'm referring to is called CadLock. Google it for more information.

I have never run into a situation where a file provided to me was not changeable. Even as a reference, the block has to be available to reference. If you have a concern about your drawing not being changed, don’t share it in a cad format, send a pdf file. Even those can now be vectorized and changed as needed if your know how to do it. We do this all day long because the clients provide us with paper line drawings. |

When you create the block, there is a setting, so it will not explode. Just click on the box in your block editor. Hope this helps. J
