Hi All,

Is it possible to change the basepoint of a block without the block resulting in the displacement of the latter on the drawing.

I usually have to replace blocks created by others with the basepoint being mis-placed on the latter. Using "Replace block by another block" is much helpful, except that the dispoints neglected by others sends my new blocks far away from my drawing. An add-on of it may save so much time in my drawing process all day long.

Thanks
DSN

One method explained here...

Went through the site.http://www.cadforum.cz/forum_en/smileys/smiley2.gif It wasn't of great help since this method still displaces the blocks of same name when moving the entities to the ucs (new base point) in the block editor. Seems that this practical command doesn't exist. However, it is practically quite intensely required while changing the blocks of a drawing to standard.
Unless moving the blocks after editing; N.B that those blocks with -ve scale moves in opposite direction. Thanks anyway.

There's a routine that's meant to do that, including compensating for insertion points and scales and rotations in already-existing insertions so that they visually stay where they are, over here.  I have tried it just a very little, and it seems to work, but I haven't tested it in lots of different situations.
