Q - question

3DSolSz - list of dimensions of selected 3D solids.

A - answer If you need to extract the dimensional data of selected 3D solids (e.g. furniture boards, trusses, etc.) from a DWG drawing, you cannot use the DATAEXTRACTION command even for simple boxes, because the width, length (depth) and height parameters are not available for 3DSolid objects.

However, you can help yourself with the simple freeware LISP application 3DSolSz (solid size). In it, you select 3D solids of the type Box, or general 3D solids of the type "3D solid", and the command lists their X/Y/Z dimensions, or the dimensions of their bounding box. It also exports these dimensions to a CSV file for Excel spreadsheets.

Download the 3DSolSz application from Download, load it into AutoCAD using APPLOAD and run it by entering the 3DSOLSZ (blocks) or 3DSOLSZB (bounding-boxes, for any solid shape) commands. The application lists the width, length, height dimensions for each solid. It can also group solids of the same dimensions, optionally even if they are oriented differently in the X, Y and Z axes.
