Q - question

How to temporarily disable Revit plugins?

A - answer You may need to temporarily disable (suppress, switch off) a Revit add-in for debugging or for locating complaining add-ins. How to proceed?
  1. Close Revit
  2. If you want to disable all add-ons, rename, or move away these folders:
    1. C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\version
    2. C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins
    3. C:\Users\*user*name*\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\version

You can also move individual add-on apps separately - to locate problems or debug a specific add-on causing Revit failures.

  3. Run Revit

The folder C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Revit [version]\AddIns contains primerly internal Autodesk plugins, but Revit can load also other third-party add-ons from this folder.
